Chapter 4 Block ReferenceFieldPoint FP-3000 User Manual4-12 ©National Instruments CorporationPermitted ModeA list describing the modes into which the block may be target. Forexample, in order to set a Target mode of Manual, the Manual mode bitmust be set in the Permitted mode field. The Permitted mode field alsohas an effect on the way output blocks shed modes. For a description ofmode shedding, refer to Appendix D, Advanced Function Block Behavior.Normal ModeThe block’s normal mode of operation is stored in the Normal field. Thisfield is not used internally by the device, but is a guide for an operator.AutomaticAuto (0x08)The block operates normally with a setpointspecified manually through a write to thesetpoint parameter.CascadeCas (0x04)The block operates normally with a setpointspecified automatically through a connectionfrom an upstream block to the CAS_IN(cascade input) parameter. Before the blockcan enter this mode, the cascade is initializedautomatically to avoid windup.Remote CascadeRCas (0x02)The block operates normally with a setpointspecified automatically through a write from ahost computer to the RCAS_IN (remotecascade input) parameter. Before the blockcan enter this mode, the cascade is initializedautomatically to avoid windup.Remote OutputROut (0x01)The output of the block is set manuallythrough a write to the ROUT_IN parameter. Noblock processing other than writing to the I/Ochannel is performed. Before the block canenter this mode, the cascade is initializedautomatically to avoid windup.Table 4-6.
