If you are installing your VXI-DAQ module into a D-sizemainframe, first install an appropriate support for C-size modulesin D-size mainframes.4. Insert the VXI-DAQ module in the slot you have selected:a. Align the top and bottom of the module with the card-edgeguides inside the mainframe.b. Slowly push the VXI-DAQ module straight into the slot untilits plug connectors are resting on the backplane receptacleconnectors.c. Using evenly distributed pressure, slowly press the VXI-DAQmodule straight in until it seats in the expansion slot.d. Make sure the front panel of the VXI-DAQ module is evenwith the front panel of the mainframe.5. Tighten the retaining screws on the top and bottom edges of thefront panel.6. Replace or close any doors or covers to the mainframe.Software InstallationRegardless of your programming methodology, proper operation ofyour VXI-MIO module depends on the correct installation of VISA onyour VXIbus controller.If VISA is not installed, you must get this information from yourVXIbus controller manufacturer. If you have a National InstrumentsVXIbus controller, contact our sales department for information onobtaining the NI-VISA software at no charge.If you are using NI-DAQ, refer to your release notes. Find theinstallation section for your operating system and follow theinstructions given there.If you are using LabVIEW, refer to your LabVIEW release notes toinstall your application software. After you have installed LabVIEW,refer to the NI-DAQ release notes and follow the instructions giventhere for your operating system and LabVIEW.
