ABSYNTH 5 Reference Manual – 906.3 MulticombMulticomb effectsThe Multicomb effect offers up to six independent Delay Lines, based on combfilters that useLowpass filters in the feedback loop. Multicomb specializes in modulation effects; with parallelseries combfilters and an appropriate modulation source, you can easily achieve flanging and othereffects based on phase shifts. For subtle to moderate phase modulations, choose medium values.High feedback rates meanwhile, produce tuneable resonance effects that sound like chords.6.3.1 ParametersMaster Section• Beat switch: With the Beat switch you select whether the value in Time control should beindicated in seconds (Sec) or in beats (Beat), ie in quarter notes.• Master Time control: Determines the maximum delay of the feedback signal, i.e. thecombfilter’s frequency. A high value results in a long delay and thus a long vibration, i.e.a deep frequency.• Master Feedback control: Defines the maximum level of the feedback signal, as a percent-age value related to the original signal’s level. At high levels, the combfilter has a highresonance, and the sound’s overtones produce a saw-tooth curve.• Master Lowpass control: Determines the cut-off frequency of the Lowpass filter, which isrun through via the feedback signal (in Hz).
