Create New ListenersThis generally not required. However, if you want to create a new listener, followthe procedure in this section.Adding a log-event listener to the CMS configuration involves creating a newinstance of an already registered log plug-in module, assigning a unique name forthe instance, and entering appropriate values for the parameters that define themodule you want to create an instance of.When you add a listener, the CMS configuration gets updated with the relevantinformation. Keep the following points in mind:• When naming a listener, be sure to formulate the name using any combinationof letters (aA to zZ), digits (0 to 9), an underscore (_), and a hyphen (-); othercharacters and spaces are not allowed. For example, you can typeAudit_Log_Listener or AuditLogListener as the instance name, but notAudit Log Listener.• The status of the listener, enabled or disabled, depends on whether you checkor uncheck the enabled parameter; only an enabled listener records events.Figure 23-2 shows the log modules registered with a Certificate Manager. If youhave registered any custom policy modules (see “Registering a Log Module” onpage 792), they too will be available for selection.
