22First StepsInserting Memory CardsImage, sound, and movie files are stored in the camera’s internal memory (approx.47 MB) or on removable memory cards (available separately) (A155).If a memory card is inserted in the camera, data is automatically stored on thememory card and data recorded to the memory card can be played back,deleted, or transferred. Remove the memory card to store data in the internalmemory, or play back, delete, or transfer data from the internal memory.1 Confirm that the power-on lamp and themonitor are turned off and open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.• Be sure to turn off the camera before opening thebattery-chamber/memory card slot cover.2 Insert the memory card.• Slide the memory card in correctly as shown on theright, until it clicks into place.• Close the battery-chamber/memory card slot coverafter inserting the memory card.B Inserting the Memory Card CorrectlyInserting the memory card upside down or backwardscould damage the camera or the memory card. Be sure toconfirm that the memory card is in the correct orientation.Removing Memory CardsBefore removing memory cards, turn the camera offand confirm that the power-on lamp and the monitorare off.Open the battery-chamber/memory card slot coverand press the card in 1 gently to partially eject thecard.
