43Shooting in Scene ModeShooting Suited for the SceneTaking Pictures for a PanoramaThe camera focuses on the subject in the center of frame. Use a tripod for bestresults. Set Vibration reduction (A 109) to Off when using a tripod to stabilizethe camera during shooting.1 Use the rotary multi selector to choose pPanorama assist in the scene menu andpress the k button (A 35).• The (I) icon is displayed to show the direction in whichpictures will be joined.2 Use the rotary multi selector to choose thedirection and press the k button.• Select how pictures will be joined together in thecompleted panorama; right (I), left (J), up (K) ordown (L).• The yellow panorama direction icon (II) will move tothe direction pressed and press the k button tochoose the direction. A white panorama direction icon (I) will be displayed in thechosen direction.• Apply flash mode (A 30), self-timer (A 32), macro mode (A 33) and exposurecompensation (A 34) settings with this step, if necessary.• Press the k button to reselect the direction.3 Shoot the first picture.• The picture taken will be displayed in 1/3 ofthe monitor.4 Shoot the second picture.• Compose the next picture so that it overlapsthe first picture.• Repeat until you have taken the necessarynumber of pictures to complete the scene.Scene menuPanorama assistImage modeExit161616F2.7F2.7F2.71/2501/2501/250151515EndEndEnd
