38Shooting FeaturesThe camera is equipped with a self-timer that releases the shutter 10 seconds or2 seconds after you press the shutter-release button. Set Vibration reduction toOff in the setup menu (A57) when using a tripod to stabilize the camera duringshooting.1 Press the multi selector J (n).2 Select the desired self-timermode, and press the k button.• n10s (10 seconds): Use on importantoccasions, such as weddings.• n2s (2 seconds): Use to prevent camerashake.• If the setting is not applied by pressing thek button within a few seconds, theselection will be canceled.• When the shooting mode is Pet portrait scene mode, Y (pet portrait autorelease) is displayed (E8). The self-timer cannot be used.3 Frame the picture and press the shutter-release buttonhalfway.• Focus and exposure are set.4 Press the shutter-releasebutton the rest of the waydown.• Countdown starts.
