74Taking Photographs—FocusFocus Area SelectionThe D2H offers a choice of eleven focus areas that together cover a widearea of the frame. The focus area can be selected manually, allowing pho-tographs to be composed the main subject positioned almost anywhere inthe frame, or automatically to ensure that the subject closest to the camerais always in focus regardless of where it is the frame (closest-subject priority;76) . Group dynamic-AF can be used to focus on the closest subject in aselected area of the frame ( 76).To select the focus area, rotate the focus selectorlock. The multi selector can then be used to se-lect the focus area. The selected focus area is dis-played in the top control panel and is highlightedbriefly in the viewfi nder.To select the center focus area or (focus areagroup) at any time, press the center of the multiselector.The focus selector lock can be rotated to the locked position following se-lection to prevent the selected focus area from changing when the multiselector is pressed.Focus Area SelectionThe focus area can not be changed during playback or while menus are displayed.
