Focus Lock ' _ s utter-reease utton/AE-L/_Focus lock can be used to change tile composition after focusing, making it possible tofocus on a subject that will not be in a focus area in the final composition. It can also beused when the autofocus system is unable to focus (_ 27). Single or dynamic area AF is recommended when using focus lock (!2 24).1 Position tile subject in the selected focus area and press theshutter release button halfway to initiate focus.2 Check that the in focus indicator (o) appears in the viewfinder. Focus will lock automatically when the in focus indicator appears, and remain locked while tile shutter releasebutton is pressed halfway.
