®Instruction ManualNivuCompactpage 24 NivuCompact – Rev. 05 as of 31.10.20126.5.4 Installation on containers, silos and tanksThe compact echo sounder installation on containers, silos and tanks dependson the medium which is to be measured.The most important thing is to adjust the NivuCompact sensor face asperpendicular as possible (±2°) to the medium to be measured (see Fig. 6-11).If using a pipe nozzle projecting into a closed container ensure to cut the nozzleend in an angle of 45°.Protect the pipe nozzle from beingimmersed. Otherwise sedimentationmay settle on the pipe walls, causingfalse echoes which might influencethe measurement.Weld seams, flanges, sealings etc.shall not project into the pipe nozzle.Such obstructions might cause falseechoes affecting the measurement.Correct nozzle installation for open and closed applications.Fig. 6-15 Installation using a pipe nozzle
