27Mailbox — for connecting to your remote mailbox to retrieve your new e-mailmessages or viewing your previously retrieved e-mail messages offline. After youdefine settings for a new mailbox, the name given to that mailbox is displayedinstead of Mailbox.Drafts — saves draft messages that have not been sentSent — saves the messages that are sent, excluding messages sent usingBluetooth. You can change the number of messages to be saved. See “Othersettings,” p. 37.Outbox — temporarily saves the messages waiting to be sentReports (network service) — saves the delivery reports of the text messages,special message types such as business cards, and multimedia messages you havesent. Receiving a delivery report of a multimedia message that has been sent to ane-mail address may not be possible.■ Write and send messagesThe wireless network may limit the size of MMS messages. If the inserted picture exceedsthis limit, the device may make it smaller so that it can be sent by MMS.Your device supports the sending of text messages beyond the character limit for a singlemessage. Longer messages are sent as a series of two or more messages. Your serviceprovider may charge accordingly. Characters that use accents or other marks, and charactersfrom some language options like Chinese, take up more space limiting the number ofcharacters that can be sent in a single message.Note: Only devices that have compatible features can receive and displaymultimedia messages. The appearance of a message may vary depending on thereceiving device.Before you can send and receive an SMS message, a multimedia message, or an e-mail, or connect to your remote mailbox, you must have the correct connectionsettings in place. See “Messaging settings,” p. 33.1. To create a message, select Menu > Messag. > New message and from thefollowing options:Text message — to create a text messageMultimedia message — to create a multimedia message (MMS)E-mail — to create an e-mail message. If you have not set up your e-mailaccount, you are asked if you want to do so.
