General information■ Access codesSecurity codeThe security code (5 to 10 digits)helps to protect your phone againstunauthorized use. The preset code is12345. To change the code, and toset the phone to request the code,see ”Security” p. 44.If you enter an incorrect securitycode five times in succession, thephone ignores further entries of thecode. Wait for 5 minutes, and enterthe code again.PIN codesThe personal identification number(PIN) code and the universalpersonal identification number(UPIN) code (4 to 8 digits) help toprotect your SIM card againstunauthorized use. See ”Security”p. 44. The PIN code is usuallysupplied with the SIM card. Set thephone to request the PIN code eachtime the phone is switched on.The PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits) may besupplied with the SIM card and isrequired for some functions.The module PIN is required to accessthe information in the securitymodule. See ”Security module” p. 72.The module PIN is supplied with theSIM card if the SIM card has asecurity module in it.The signing PIN is required for thedigital signature. See ”Digitalsignature” p. 73. The signing PIN issupplied with the SIM card if theSIM card has a security module in it.PUK codesThe personal unblocking key (PUK)code and the universal personalunblocking key (UPUK) code(8 digits) are required to change ablocked PIN code and UPIN code,respectively. If the codes are notsupplied with the SIM card, contactyour service provider for the codes.Barring passwordThe barring password (4 digits) isrequired when you use the Callbarring service. See ”Security” p. 44.You can obtain the password fromyour service provider. If you enter anincorrect barring password threetimes in succession, the password isblocked.
