All messages areorganized into folders.■ Text messages (SMS)With the short message service(SMS) you can send and receive textmessages (network service).Before you can send text or SMSe-mail messages, you must save yourmessage center number. See”Message settings” p. 24.To check SMS e-mail serviceavailability and to subscribe to theservice, contact your serviceprovider. To save an e-mail addressin Contacts, see ”Save numbers andtext items” p. 27.Your device supports the sending oftext messages beyond the characterlimit for a single message. Longermessages are sent as a series of twoor more messages. Your serviceprovider may charge accordingly.Characters that use accents or othermarks, and characters from somelanguage options like Chinese, takeup more space limiting the numberof characters that can be sent in asingle message.At the top of the display, you can seethe message length indicatorcounting backwards from themaximum number of characterssupported by the phone.Write and send SMSmessages1. Select Menu > Messaging >Create message > Text message.2. Enter the recipient’s phonenumber in the To: field. Toretrieve a phone number fromContacts, select Add > Contact.To send the message to multiplerecipients, add the desiredcontacts one by one. Scroll rightto add new contacts manually inthe To: field. To send the messageto persons in a group, selectContact group and the desiredgroup. To retrieve the contacts towhich you recently sentmessages, select Add > Recentlyused.
