56Final version 2/15/99Phone lockThis feature protects your phone from unauthorized outgoingcalls or unauthorized access to information stored in thephone.With phone lock activated, Phone locked will be displayedeach time you turn your phone on or off. You will be prompt-ed for your lock code when you press either Names or Menu(Call not allowed will be displayed if you attempt to place acall while phone is locked). Once your lock code has been ac-cepted, your phone will function normally.Activating and deactivating phone lockPress Menu 4-3-2-1 (Settings - Security settings - Accesscodes - Phone lock). Enter the lock code then press OK. Thenscroll to On or Off, and press OK. Complete the phone lockactivation or deactivation by turning your phone off andback on.When your phone is locked, calls may be possible to theemergency number programmed into your phone (e.g. 911 orother official emergency number) including calls with Emer-gency key 9 (page 36).You can also store a number in the Unlocked phone numberlocation, which allows you to call this number even thoughyour phone is locked (See page 74 for details).Answering a call with phone lock onPress any key except andPhone settingsPhone settings allows you access to other phone featuressuch as an alarm clock and your phone’s language.Using phone settingsPress Menu 4-2 (Settings - Phone settings), then scroll toone of the following options, then press Select:4-2-1 Clock - See page 32.57Final version 2/15/994-2-2 Alarm clock - See page 49.4-2-3 Touch tones - See page 72.4-2-4 Restore factory settings - See page 59.4-2-5 Language - See page 43.ProfilesYou can adjust and customize yourphone to whatever environment youfind yourself in (e.g. shopping, a movie,etc.).Each profile uses its predefined settingsto determine your phone’s ringing volume, ringing tone,message alert tone, keypad tones, warning tones, etc., for anumber of different environments.These settings can be changed at any time, and each profilecan be selected in a matter of seconds.Note: Restore factory settings (see page 59) will reset any changesmade in profiles back to the factory defaults.
