All rights reserved.SynchronisationSynchronisation allows you to saveyour calendar and contacts data on aremote Internet server (networkservice) or on a compatible PC. If youhave saved data on the remoteInternet server, you can synchroniseyour phone by starting thesynchronisation from the phone. Youcan also synchronise the data in yourphone’s contacts and calendar tocorrespond with the data of acompatible PC by starting thesynchronisation from the PC. Thecontact data in your SIM card willnot be synchronised.Note that answering an incomingcall during synchronisation will endthe synchronisation and you willneed to re-start it.Synchronising from your phoneBefore synchronising from thephone, you may need to do thefollowing:• Subscribe to a synchronisationservice. For more information onavailability and to subscribe tothe synchronisation service,contact your network operator orservice provider.• Retrieve the synchronisationsettings, see ”Settings for thesynchronisation” on page 52.• Set the connection settings youneed for the synchronisation. See”Setting up the phone for aservice” on page 58.To start the synchronisation fromthe phone:1. Activate the connection settingsyou need for the synchronisation.2. Press Menu and select Organiser,Synchronisation, Settings andActive Internet sync. settings.Activate the desired set and markthe data to be synchronised. SeeData to be synchronised in”Settings for thesynchronisation” on page 52.3. Press Menu and select Organiser,Synchronisation andSynchronise. The marked data ofthe active set will besynchronised after confirmation.Note that synchronising for the firsttime or after an interruptedsynchronisation may take up to 30minutes to complete, if the contactsor calendar are full.Settings for thesynchronisationYou may receive the synchronisationsettings as an over the air messagefrom the network operator or serviceprovider. To receive the settings overthe air, see ”Over the air settingsservice” on page 10.
