All rights reserved.Data transfer with acompatible deviceFor synchronization, Bluetooth wirelesstechnology or a cable connection is used.The other device is in the standby mode.To start data transfer, select Menu >Settings > Connectivity > Data transfer andthe transfer contact from the list, other thanServer synchronisation or PCsynchronisation. According to the settings,the selected data is copied or synchronised.The other device also must be activated forreceiving data.Synchronise from a compatible PCBefore you synchronise data from calendar,notes, and contacts from a compatible PC,you must install the Nokia PC Suite softwareof your phone on the PC. Use Bluetoothwireless technology or a USB data cable forthe synchronization, and start thesynchronization from the PC.Synchronise from a serverTo use a remote internet server, you mustsubscribe to a synchronization service. Formore information and the settings requiredfor this service, contact your serviceprovider. You may receive the settings as aconfiguration message. See “Configurationsettings service”, p. x and “Configuration”,p. 41.If you have saved data on the remoteinternet server, to synchronise your phone,start the synchronization from your phone.Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity >Data transfer > Server synchronisation.Depending on the settings, select Initialisingsynchronisation or Initialising copy.Synchronizing for the first time or after aninterrupted synchronization may take up to30 minutes to complete, if the contacts orcalendar are full.USB data cableYou can use the CA-101 USB data cable totransfer data between the phone and acompatible PC with Nokia PC Suite.To activate the phone for data transfer,connect the data cable to the phone and PC.See “Charge the battery with the CA-101data cable”, p. 3 for more information onconnecting the data cable. The phonedetects the data cable automatically.■ CallSelect Menu > Settings > Call and from thefollowing options:Call divert—to divert your incoming calls(network service). You may not be able todivert your calls if some call barringfunctions are active. See Call barring servicein “Security”, p. 41.Anykey answer > On—to answer anincoming call by briefly pressing any key,except the power key, the camera key, theleft and right selection keys, or the end key.Slide call handling > Open slide to answercalls—to answer an incoming call by openingthe slideAutomatic redial > On—to make a maximumof 10 attempts to connect the call after anunsuccessful call attempt
