messages containing data, and sendservice commands.Before sending or receiving messages,you may need to do the following:• Insert a valid SIM card in the deviceand be located in the service area ofa cellular network.• Verify that the network supportsthe messaging features you want touse and that they are activated onyour SIM card.• Define the internet access pointsettings on the device.• Define the e-mail account settingson the device.• Define the text message settings onthe device.• Define the multimedia messagesettings on the device.The device may recognise the SIM cardprovider and automatically configuresome of the message settings. If not,you may need to define the settingsmanually; or contact your serviceprovider to configure the settings.Messaging foldersSelect Menu > Messaging.Messages and data received usingBluetooth connectivity are stored in theInbox folder. E-mail messages arestored in the Mailbox folder. Messagesthat you have been writing can bestored in the Drafts folder. Messagesthat are waiting to be sent are stored inthe Outbox folder, and messages thathave been sent, excluding Bluetoothmessages, are stored in the Sent folder.Tip: Messages are placed in the Outboxfolder, for example, when your device isoutside network coverage.Note: The message sent icon or text onyour device screen does not indicatethat the message is received at theintended destination.To request the network to send you adelivery report of the text messages andmultimedia messages you have sent(network service), select Options >Settings > Text message > Receivereport or Multimedia message >Receive reports.
