The access pointfor A-GPS can be defined in positioning settings. Awireless LAN (WLAN) access point cannot be used forthis service. Only a packet data internet access pointcan be used. Your device asks you to select the internetaccess point when GPS is used for the first time.Hold your device correctlyThe GPS receiver is located on the back of the device.When using the receiver, make sure that you do notcover the antenna with your hand.Establishing a GPS connection may takefrom a couple of seconds to severalminutes. Establishing a GPS connection in avehicle may take longer.The GPS receiver draws its power from thedevice battery. Using the GPS receiver maydrain the battery faster.Tips on creating a GPSconnectionCheck satellite signal statusTo check how many satellites your device has found,and whether your device is receiving satellite signals,select Menu > Applications > GPS and GPS data >Options > Satellite status.If your device has foundsatellites, a bar for eachsatellite is shown in thesatellite info view. Thelonger the bar, the strongerthe satellite signal. Whenyour device has received enough data from the satellitesignal to calculate your location, the bar colourchanges.To view the positions of found satellites, select Chg.view.Initially your device must receive signals from at leastfour satellites to be able to calculate your location.When the initial calculation has been made, it may bepossible to continue calculating your location withthree satellites. However, the accuracy is generallybetter when more satellites are found.If no satellite signal can be found, consider thefollowing:• If you are indoors, go outdoors to receive a bettersignal.• If you are outdoors, move to a more open space.• Ensure that your hand does not cover the GPSantenna of your device.• If the weather conditions are bad, the signalstrength may be affected.• Some vehicles have tinted (athermic) windows,which may block the satellite signals.75 Travelling
