MemoryThere are two types of memory into which you can save dataor install applications: device memory and memory card.Free memoryTo see how much memory is currently in use, how much freememory remains, and how much memory is consumed byeach data type, select Menu > Options > Memorydetails > Phone memory or Memory card.Tip: To ensure that you have adequate memory,transfer data regularly to a memory card or computeror use File manager to delete files you no longer need.After you install applications to a compatible memory card,installation files (.sis, .sisx) remain in the device memory. Thefiles may use large amounts of memory and prevent you fromstoring other files. To maintain sufficient memory, use NokiaPC Suite to back up installation files to a compatible PC, thenuse the file manager to remove the installation files from thedevice memory. If the .sis file is a message attachment, deletethe message from the Messaging inbox.Memory cardSelect Menu > Tools > Memory.If you cannot use a memory card in your device, you may havethe wrong type of memory card, the card may not beformatted for your device, or the card has a corrupted filesystem. Your Nokia device supports the FAT16 and FAT32 filesystem for memory cards.MicroSDHCThis device uses microSD and microSDHC memorycards.To ensure interoperability, use only compatiblememory cards with this device. Check thecompatibility of a memory card with its manufactureror provider. Other memory cards than microSD andmicroSDHC cards are not compatible with this device. Usingan incompatible memory card may damage the memory cardas well as the device, and data stored on the incompatiblecard may be corrupted.Use a memory cardTo format a memory card for your device, select Options >Format memory card. When a memory card is formatted,all data on the card is lost permanently.
