Offline profileTo activate the offline profile, press the power key briefly,and select Offline. Or, press , and select Tools >Profiles > Offline.The offline profile lets you use the device withoutconnecting to the wireless network. When you activatethe offline profile, the connection to the wireless networkis turned off, as indicated by in the signal strengthindicator area. All wireless RF signals to and from thedevice are prevented. If you try to send messages, theyare placed in the outbox to be sent later.When the offline profile is active, you can use your devicewithout a SIM card.Important: In the offline profile you cannot makeor receive any calls, or use other features that requirecellular network coverage. Calls may still be possible tothe official emergency number programmed into yourdevice. To make calls, you must first activate the phonefunction by changing profiles. If the device has beenlocked, enter the lock code.When you have activated the offline profile, you can stilluse the wireless LAN, for example, to read your e-mail orbrowse on the internet. Remember to comply with anyapplicable safety requirements when establishing andusing a wireless LAN connection. You can also useBluetooth connectivity while in the offline profile.To leave the offline profile, press the power key briefly,and select another profile. The device re-enables wirelesstransmissions (providing there is sufficient signalstrength).Fast downloadingHigh-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA, also called3.5G, indicated by ) is a network service in UMTSnetworks and provides high-speed data downloads.When HSDPA support in the device is activated and thedevice is connected to a UMTS network that supportsHSDPA, downloading data such as messages, e-mail, andbrowser pages through the cellular network may befaster. An active HSDPA connection is indicated by . See"Display indicators", p. 24.You can activate or deactivate support for HSDPA in thedevice settings.
