A LED blinks to indicate that thedevice is powered on, but in the sleep mode.To switch off the LED, see ‘Sleep mode’, p. 114.Volume and loudspeaker controlTo increase or decrease the volume level when you have anactive call or are listening to a sound, press the volume key.The built-in loudspeaker allows you to speak and listenfrom a short distance without having to hold the device toyour ear.Warning: Do not hold the device near your ear whenthe loudspeaker is in use, because the volume may beextremely loud.To use the loudspeaker during a call, select Options >Activate loudspeaker.To turn off the loudspeaker, select Options > Activatehandset.HeadsetYou can connect acompatible headset orcompatible headphones tothe Nokia AV Connector(3.5 mm) of your device. Youmay need to select the cablemode.Do not connect products thatcreate an output signal asthis may cause damage to the device. Do not connect anyvoltage source to the Nokia AV Connector.When connecting any external device or any headset,other than those approved by Nokia for use with thisdevice, to the Nokia AV Connector, pay special attention tovolume levels.Warning: When you use the headset, your ability tohear outside sounds may be affected. Do not use theheadset where it can endanger your safety.To optimize audio performance, attach the suppliedearpads to the headset.To use a headset or headphones with a compatible remotecontrol unit, for example, the Nokia Audio Adapter AD-54,connect the unit to the connector in the device, thenconnect the headset or headphones to the unit.
