Thisdevice is intended for use when supplied with powerfrom the following chargers: AC-5. The battery can becharged and discharged hundreds of times, but it willeventually wear out. When the talk and standby timesare noticeably shorter than normal, replace thebattery. Use only Nokia approved batteries, andrecharge your battery only with Nokia approvedchargers designated for this device. Use of anunapproved battery or charger may present a risk offire, explosion, leakage, or other hazard.The exact charger model number may vary dependingon the type of plug. The plug variant is identified byone of the following: E, EB, X, AR, U, A, C, or UB.If a battery is being used for the first time or if thebattery has not been used for a prolonged period, itmay be necessary to connect the charger, thendisconnect and reconnect it to begin charging thebattery. If the battery is completely discharged, it maytake several minutes before the charging indicatorappears on the display or before any calls can be made.Always switch the device off and disconnect thecharger before removing the battery.Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and thedevice when not in use. Do not leave a fully chargedbattery connected to a charger, since overchargingmay shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully chargedbattery will lose its charge over time.Always try to keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C(59°F and 77°F). Extreme temperatures reduce thecapacity and lifetime of the battery. A device with a hotor cold battery may not work temporarily. Batteryperformance is particularly limited in temperatureswell below freezing.Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a metallic object such as acoin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of thepositive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery.(These look like metal strips on the battery.)
