The pump will not operateproperly if the air valve parts are worn or damaged. Inspect the snapperassembly, poppets, crankshaft, and ball stem. Replace worn or damagedparts. Refer to the Parts section for ordering information.NOTE: Lubricate all moving parts and contact areas with a light greasebefore assembly. Lubricate all O-rings before installing them.Center Body1. See Figure 7-5. Install new O-rings (6) into the center body (8).2. Install the poppet guide (7) into the center body.3. Insert the arm (10) through the top of the center body. Make sure thearm fork fits over the flats of the poppet guide.4. Install a new O-ring (5) on the crankshaft (9).5. Position the crankshaft as shown in Figure 7-5. Press the crankshaftinto the center body until it seats.6. Install a new O-ring (5) on the end bushing (3).7. Install a new O-ring (4) into the end bushing.8. Hold the crankshaft in place and press the end bushing into thecenter body.NOTE: In the next step, either apply Loctite to the old socket head screwor use a new socket head screw.9. Insert the socket head screw (1) through the end bushing and into theend of the crankshaft. Tighten the socket head screw securely.Seal Retainers and Poppets1. See Figure 7-4. Use the socket head screws (5) to install thepoppets (6) in the center body (7). Tighten the screws securely.2. Install new end plate washers (4) in the right and left seal retainers(3 and 8).3. Use the lock washers (2) and fillister head screws (1) to attach the leftand right seal retainers to the center body. Tighten the screwssecurely.Cleaning and Inspecting PartsAssembly
