54 Nortel IP Phone 2001—End—Full Duplex modeIn the Configuration menu, autonegotiate mode is the default setting forinitial startup. Nortel recommends that autonegotiate mode is used on thenetwork and the IP Phone. Use Full Duplex mode only when the networkis forced Full Duplex for 100BT Full Duplex mode; otherwise, a duplexmismatch results. No intervention is required under normal operation.Changing the speed and changing the duplex mode on the phone changesboth the LAN Ethernet port and PC Ethernet Port interfaces.ATTENTIONNortel recommends that autonegotiate mode is used on the network and the IPPhone.
