September 2007 Setting up the SystemInstallation Guide 73Verifying the installationTo verify that the Recorder has been installed properly, place a test call andplay it back or use Viewer to view the test call.To verify the Nortel TDM Recorder installation:1 With the TDM Recorder installed and running, place a test telephone calland then hang up.2 Locate the file Witplayer.exe in the following directory: c:\programfiles\Nortel\ContactStore. (If you chose to install TDM Recorderin another location, locate the file there).3 Click Recorder Status > Status Summary and in the Capture areaconfirm that Total Calls and Calls per minute show the call you justrecorded.4 Click General Setup > Recorder Settings and identify the location ofthe Call Buffer, such as D:\Calls.5 Open the folder (such as D:\Calls) that contains the Call Buffer andensure that it contains a file representing the call.Tip: The name of the file is based on the Serial number and Inum, whichare combined.The Recording should play through the speakers on your computer. Ifthe recording does not play, follow these troubleshooting steps: Read any error messages that appear. Make sure the speakers are turned on Make sure that the recording has finished. Make sure your sound card is working. For example, check thatsounds are created from other applications. Check that the LAN is fully operational Check that the Recorder has been installed properly.
