Paper may jam anywhere along the paper path—from the paper tray to the outputtray. Sensors within the printer constantly monitor paper travel, so when a sheet of paper fails toarrive at a certain point within a specific time, the printer interprets that to mean that the paperhas stopped between two sensors along the paper path. The printer then displays a Paper Jamerror message that corresponds to that specific jam. When paper gets jammed inside the printer, printing stops and an error code indicating the posi-tion of the jam appears on the display.Figure 1-4: Paper Jam Locations and Error Codes.Error Code Paper Jam LocationE2 Between the paper feed section (front paper tray, main tray, oroptional feeder tray) and the print cartridgeE3 Between the print cartridge and the fuser unitE4 At the paper exit slotE6 At the offset output trayE7 At the duplexerE6E4E7 E2E3
