Clearing paper jams> 178C LEARING PAPER JAMSProvided that you follow the recommendations in this guide onthe use of print media, and you keep the media in good conditionprior to use, your printer should give years of reliable service.However, paper jams occasionally do occur, and this sectionexplains how to clear them quickly and simply.Jams can occur due to paper misfeeding from a paper tray or atany point on the paper path through the printer. When a jamoccurs, the printer immediately stops, and the Alert LED on theStatus Panel (together with the Status Monitor) informs you ofthe event. If printing multiple pages (or copies), do not assumethat, having cleared an obvious sheet, others will not also bestopped somewhere along the path.
