118Using Time-Lapse PhotographyYou can use the menu to switch on the time lapse mode and select the timer intervalbetween automatic exposures. For example, if you set the time interval for 5 minutes, youcan capture each stage of a flower opening in the morning. You can set the time intervalin minutes for the shooting session within the range 1 minute up to 24 hours. The actualtime between shots may differ slightly from the time interval setting. (See “Actual timeinterval” on page 120.) The camera will continue to take pictures in the time lapse modeuntil the batteries discharge or until the memory card fills up. To cancel time lapsephotography, just switch the camera off and on.1 Set the mode dial to P, A, S, or M.2 Attach the camera securely to atripod, and then compose thepicture in the viewfinder.Open the built-in flash, set the zoom, setup the exposure compensation, adjust thefocus or any other features required for thepictures that you want to take.3 Pull down the eyepiece shutterlever to prevent light entering theviewfinder from behind the camera.4 Press the menu button .The menu opens in the monitor.5 On the arrow pad, press orto move the green highlight to thetime interval mark .6 On the arrow pad, press movethe green highlight to the right.The previously selected time interval isdisplayed.562143ONOFF
