This enables insert editing tobe conducted independently using the time codealone. In addition, the VTR’s playback speed can beread from the stop mode to slow-motion playback upto high-speed play (approx. 100a normal speed). The time code values are indicated using the displayand superimpose functions.TCR 00 : 07 : 04 : 24t t t tHours Minutes Seconds FramesUser bit“User bit” refers to the 32-bit (8-digit) data frameamong the time code signals which has been releasedto users. It enables operator numbers values to berecorded. The alphanumeric characters which can be used forthe user bit are the figures 0 to 9 and the letters A toF.Setting the internal time code1 Set the VTR to stop mode.3 Set the run mode for the time code generator usingsetup menu No. 513 (RUN MODE).REC:The internal time code generator is advancedduring recording.FREE:When the power is on, the internal time codegenerator is advanced regardless of theoperation mode.4 Set the TCG switch to REGEN mode.REGEN:In this mode, the continuity of the original timecode prior to editing is maintained.O A more detailed setting can be performedusing setup menu No. 503 (TCG REGEN)and No. 504 (REGEN MODE).PRESET:In this mode, recording is commenced from thevalue which was set by the TC PRESET button.O During automatic editing, whatever has beenselected for the menu No. 504 setting is usedfor regeneration even when the TCG switchhas been set to PRESET.5 Use the TC PRESET button to set the start numberof the time code or user’s bit.1 Press the TC PRESET button.
