Make sure the date andtime have been correctly set (page27).Memory capacityThe total recording capacity (includingcaller messages and voice memos) isabout 45 minutes.A maximum of 99 messages can berecorded.L If the message memory becomes full,{6} on the base unit flashes rapidly.Erase unnecessary messages (page59).L When the message memory becomesfull, the greeting message is differentdepending on your situation:– If you use the prerecorded greetingmessage, the unit automaticallyswitches to another prerecordedgreeting message asking callers tocall again later.– If you recorded your own greetingmessage, the same message is stillannounced to callers even thoughtheir messages are not recorded.Turning the answering systemon f1 Press {IP/TEL} repeatedly until thedisplay shows the desired line(s)(n and/or m).2 Press {ANSWER ON} to turn on theanswering system.L The ANSWER ON indicator lights.Note:L In standby mode, the display showsthe line(s) set for the answeringsystem (n and/or m).Turning the answering system offPress {ANSWER ON}.L The ANSWER ON indicator turns off.Screening callsWhile a caller is leaving a message, youcan listen to the call through the baseunit’s speaker.
