Convenient functionsVQT4W69 81VIERA Link functionsConvenientfunctionsWhat is VIERA Link “HDAVI Control”?VIERA Link “HDAVI Control” is a convenientfunction which will link the operations of this unitand a Panasonic TV (VIERA) or anamplifier/receiver. You can use this function byconnecting the equipment with the HDMI cable.See the operating instructions for connectedequipment.When the following operations are performed, theinput channel of the TV will be automaticallyswitched and the screen of this unit will bedisplayed. Additionally when the TV is off, the TVwill automatically turn on.- When play starts on this unit- When an action that uses DIRECT NAVIGATORetc, is performedWhen you set the TV to standby mode, this unit isalso automatically set to standby mode.• Power off link function does not work whenrecording, copying etc.The following operations make it possible to keepthe power of the unit on and to play musiccontinuously.When the unit is directly connected to anamplifier/receiver.1 While playing musicPress [OPTION].2 Select “TV Power Off”, then press [OK].• Sound may be discontinued for several secondswhen the power to the TV is turned off.• This function is available with the TV thatsupports “HDAVI Control 2” or later.You can operate this unit with the TV remotecontrol.Refer to “PAUSE LIVE TV”. (> 31)• This function is available with the TV thatsupports “HDAVI Control 3” or later.This function allows you to immediately startrecording the programme that you are viewing onthe TV.Refer to the TV operating instructions foroperation.• This function is available with the TV thatsupports “HDAVI Control 3” or later.You can operate this unit using the TV remotecontrol.Refer to the operating instructions of the TV aboutthe buttons that you can use.• This function is available with the TV thatsupports “HDAVI Control 2” or later.• This unit supports “HDAVI Control 5” function.“HDAVI Control 5” is the standard for Panasonic’s HDAVIControl compatible equipment. This standard is compatiblewith Panasonic’s conventional HDAVI equipment.Please refer to individual manuals for other manufacturers’equipment supporting VIERA Link function.• VIERA Link “HDAVI Control”, based on the control functionsprovided by HDMI which is an industry standard known asHDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), is a uniquefunction that we have developed and added.
