- 13 -ENTap mode• Regardless of the position of theForward/Reverse lever (E), every timethe trigger switch is pressed, the drillswitches between “forward” and“reverse”.Check the “FWD” and “REV” lamps whenworking.The lamp lights up in accordance with“forward” or “reverse”.NOTE:• When using the Tap mode function,the tap drill may be damaged, so setthe clutch handle at position 1 beforeuse.• Tip tools (tap drills) may slip duringwork depending on the shape, type,and surface condition.In order to ensure safe and accuratework, before starting work or duringwork, check that the tip tool (tap drill)is securely tightened with the keylessdrill chuck. Also, use a hexagonalshaft type tip tool (tap drill) with highholding force when you wish toperform more accurate work.• Tap mode is cancelled when nooperation is performed for about5 minutes or immediately after thebattery pack is removed.Tap mode settings1. Press and hold the Speed settingbutton/Tap mode button (L) for2 seconds or longer.The Tap mode lamp “FWD” lights up.2. In Tap mode, press the Speed settingbutton/Tap mode button (L) to changethe rotational speed.The speed changes to L, H, M in thisorder.NOTE:• To cancel Tap mode, press and holdthe Speed setting button/Tap modebutton (L) for 2 seconds or longer.The Tap mode lamp turns off.• During Tap mode, the rotational speedis the same for motor voltage of both18 V DC and 14.4 V DC3 Mode LED LightPress the light button to select illuminationsetting.Illuminated - ConstantSelect by pressing lamp button lightwill activate when trigger is pressed.It will then stay illuminated forapproximately 5 minutes even if toolis not used but will then switch offautomatically to save power.Illuminated - On triggerBy pressing the lamp button again,the mode will move to illuminationupon the pressing of the triggeronly.OffCAUTION:Do not use it as a substitute for aregular flashlight, since it does not haveenough brightness.CAUTION: DO NOT STARE INTOBEAM.Use of controls or adjustments or perfor-mance of procedures other than thosespecified herein may result in hazardousradiation exposure.Battery Level IndicatorPress the battery level button.NOTE:The indicator will not show the batterylevel when the button is pressed in thefollowing cases.• The tool is powered off.• Just after attaching the battery pack• The main unit or battery level button isnot operated for approx. five minutes.Press the battery level button againafter depressing the trigger switch.
