- 15 -ENAttaching or RemovingBattery Pack1. To connect the battery pack:Align the highlighted marker pointsand attach battery pack.• Slide the battery pack until it locksinto position.[Fig.10]2. OPERATIONWARNINGDo not inhale any smoke emitted from thetool or battery pack as it may be harmful.Before Using the RemoteControl (Available as anoptional accessory)Insert the battery[Fig.13]1. Pull out the battery holder.1 Push in on the fastener as indicatedby the arrow.2 Pull out the holder.2. Insert the battery and push the holderback in.NOTE:• If the tool does not respond to thewireless remote control even whenthe remote control is operated closeto the tool, the battery (CR2025) isdead. Replace it with a fresh battery.• The included battery is provided forsample use and may not last as longas commercially available batteries.Wireless remote control range[Fig.14]The remote control should be operatedwithin approximately 50 cm and approxi-mately 60° vertically and horizontally ofthe perpendicular relative to the infraredreceiver on the tool.• Under the following circumstances, youmay not be able to operate the tool,even within this range.- If there is an object between the remotecontrol’s transmitter and the tool’s receiver.- Use outdoors or in other environmentswhere the remote control receiver isexposed to a strong light source, orwhen the remote control transmitter orreceiver is dirty may cause the tool tofail to respond, even when the remotecontrol is used within the operatingrange.[Main Unit]CAUTION:If a tool holder is used with the PanasonicEYF series assembly tools, make surethe tool’s trigger switch doesn’t hit the toolholder. It may run the tool accidentally andresult in battery failure by unexpected batterydischarge.[Fig.15]CAUTION:When storing or carrying the tool, set theForward/Reverse lever to the center position(switch lock).NOTE:Exercise caution to ensure no objectscome into contact with the tool’s triggerswitch.If an object comes into contact withthe tool’s trigger switch, even while theForward/Reverse lever is in the centerposition (locked), a small amount of electriccurrent may continue flowing, which maycause an excessive discharge from thebattery pack and subsequent battery packfailure.
