1.1 General Features26 Features GuideBuilt-in Voice MessageDescriptionThis function is only available if an optional card KX-TD61291 is installed in the main unitKX-TD612. Installing this optional card enables you to use these features.• Internal/External (Intelligent Call Handling 1:1) callers forwarded to your message boxcan leave their messages in it.• External callers guided by company outgoing messages can leave their messages in thecompany (operator) message box. (Refer to 3.2.3 Recording Company GreetingOutgoing Messages in User Manual.)• Replay or delete the recorded messages from your extension. A password is necessaryfor remote replaying or deleting through CO lines.• The Direct Message function:Allows you to leave a voice message in another extension's personal message box, evenif the extension has not been set to forward an incoming call to its personal message boxnor has recorded the OGM.Note• Be sure to assign the Intelligent Call Handling table beforehand. Otherwise, outside callercannot access the company message box. (Refer to Intelligent Call Handling —Distribution of Incoming Outside Calls)• When the call information of the Built-in Voice Message is overwritten, the voice messageitself is deleted at the same time.• You can set either the Built-in Voice Message (BV) feature or the Voice Mail (VM) featureat a time, but not both. If you set VM, the functions of an optional voice message card KX-TD61291 cannot be used. In other words, BV, OGM and Direct Inward System Access(DISA) cannot work when VM is used. Before setting VM, be sure to listen to voicemessages of BV and then delete call log entries if stored. Otherwise, you can do nothingwith it after setting VM.ConditionsBuilt-in Voice Message Feature• The voice message card has 2 resources. In default setting, resource 1 is for Jack1-1 and 2-1. Resource 2 is for the other jacks. The personal message box for each extension can bechanged to either resource. Each resource can have maximum of 128 voice messages(including OGMs).• You can record or delete an OGM only when no one else is using this feature such asreplaying/recording/deleting a voice message or an OGM. If you try to record an OGMwhen someone else is using this feature, you will hear a reorder tone, and OGM BUSY willbe indicated on the display (for Digital Proprietary Telephone user only).
