This PIN is used to set features or access the extension remotely.The following features require a valid PIN:a) Live Call Screening (LCS)* (→ 1.21.2 Voice Mail DPT (Digital) Integration)b) Incoming and Outgoing Call Log Display Lock (→ 1.16.2 Incoming Call Log), Personal SpeedDialing Display Lock (→ 1.6.1.4 Speed Dialing—Personal/System)c) Walking Extension (→ 1.25.3 Walking Extension)d) Extension Lock (→ 1.8.2 Extension Lock)e) Remote Extension Control (→ 1.25.5 Remote Extension Control by User) and Walking COS (→1.8.4 Walking COS)f) Remote Extension Control and Walking COS using Direct Inward System Access (DISA) (→1.15.6 Direct Inward System Access (DISA))ConditionsWARNINGWhen a third party discovers the personal identification number (PIN) (verified code PIN/extensionPIN) of the PBX, there will be a risk that they will make fraudulent phone calls using the telephoneline, and the cost will be charged to your own account. In order to avoid this problem, we stronglyrecommend the following points:a) Carefully maintain the secrecy of the PIN.b) Specify a complicated PIN as long and random as you can make it.c) Change the PIN frequently.• Extension PIN LockIf the extension PIN is entered incorrectly three times, the line will be disconnected. If an incorrect PINis entered a preprogrammed number of times, the PIN will be locked. Only an extension assigned as amanager can unlock a PIN, after which it will be reset.This feature is also known as Station Password Lock.• Remote Extension PIN ClearIf an extension user forgets his or her PIN, a manager can clear (reset) the PIN, and the extension usercan assign a new PIN.• Extension PIN DisplayIt is possible to select whether to show the extension PIN on the display through system programming.By default, it is shown as dots.Operation References3.1.2 Settings on the Programming Mode*: If an extension user has assigned an extension PIN, the PIN is required when activating this feature.
