84If the Following Appear on Your Display...The following will be displayed on the handset when the unit needs your attention.Display message Cause & RemedyRecharge battery • The battery needs to be charged. Recharge thebattery (p. 16).Charge for 6 HRS • The battery has been discharged. The handset willnot work. Fully charge the battery (p. 16).No link to base.Move closer tobase and tryagain.• The handset has lost communication with the baseunit. Walk closer to the base unit, and try again.• Confirm the base unit’s AC adaptor is plugged in.• Raise the base unit antennas.• The handset’s registration may have been canceled.Re-register the handset (p. 64).Please lift upand try again.• A handset button was pressed while the handset wason the base unit. Lift the handset and press thebutton again.Busy • The called base unit is in use.• The base unit user is using the line(s). Wait until theline status icon goes out.Error!!• When you tried to re-register the handset, thehandset and base unit could not link for some reason,such as interference from electrical appliances. Movethe handset and base unit away from any electricalappliances and try again.System is busy.Please try againlater.• The Answering System is in use (answering a call orplaying back messages). Try again later.• The handset has lost communication with the baseunit. Walk closer to the base unit and try again.Phone book full • When you tried to store an item in the phone book,the phone book memory was full. Press [OFF] to exitprogramming mode.
