Useful Information47SMS (Short Message Service)I cannot register a handset to abase unit.L The maximum number of base units (4) are alreadyregistered to the handset. Cancel unused base unitregistrations from the handset (page 38).L The maximum number of handsets (6) are alreadyregistered to the base unit. Cancel unused handsetregistrations from the base unit (page 38).L You entered the wrong PIN number. If you forgetyour PIN, consult your nearest Panasonic servicecentre.L Place the handset and the base unit away fromother electrical appliances.Problem Cause & solutionI cannot send or receive SMSmessages.L You have not subscribed to the appropriate service.Consult your service provider/telephone company.L The SMS message centre number(s) are not storedor are incorrect. Store the correct numbers (page27).L Message transmission was interrupted. Wait untilthe message has been sent before using othertelephone functions.L If your unit is connected to a telephone line withDSL service, the DSL service may be interferingwith your telephone service. We recommendconnecting a filter to the telephone line between thebase unit and the telephone line jack. Contact yourDSL service provider for more information.The SMS message centre numberis logged in the caller list and themessage is not received.L Someone tried to send you a message while SMSis turned off.“FD” is displayed. L The unit could not connect to the SMS messagecentre. Confirm that the correct SMS messagecentre numbers are stored (page 27). Confirm thatSMS is turned on (page 27).“FE” is displayed. L An error occurred while sending the message. Tryagain.“E0” is displayed.
