Voicemail serviceVoicemail is an automatic answering service offered by your phone service provider. After yousubscribe to this service, your phone service provider’s voicemail system answers calls for youwhen you are unavailable to answer the phone or when your line is busy. Messages are recordedby your phone service provider, not your telephone.When you have new messages, is displayed on the handset if message indication service isavailable. Please contact your phone service provider for details of this service.Important:R If still remains on the display even after you have listened to new messages, turn it off bypressing and holding # for 2 seconds.R To use the voicemail service provided by your phone service provider rather than the unit’sanswering system, turn off the answering system (page 38). For details, see page 43.(KX-TGD320 series: page 3)Character entryThe dial keys are used to enter characters and numbers. Each dial key has multiple charactersassigned to it. The characters that can be entered depend on the character entry mode(page 45).– Press MFN or MEN to move the cursor left or right.– Press dial keys to enter characters and numbers.– Press MCLEARN to erase the character or number highlighted by the cursor. Press and holdMCLEARN to erase all characters or numbers.– Press * (Aaa) to switch between uppercase and lowercase.– To enter another character located on the same dial key, press MEN to move the cursor to thenext space, then press the appropriate dial key.– If you do not press any dial key within 2 seconds after entering a character, the character isfixed and the cursor moves to the next space.Character entry modesThe available character entry modes are Alphabet (ABC), Numeric (0-9), Greek ( ),Extended 1 ( ), Extended 2 ( ), and Cyrillic ( ).
