Recording pictures (basic)37VQT0R26Taking Pictures using the Built-in FlashWhen you set the flash, you can takepictures using the built-in flash according tothe recording condition.A: Photo flashDo not cover it with your finger or any otheritems.∫ Switching to the appropriate flashsettingFor the selectable flash settings, refer to“Available flash settings by recordingmode” on P38.: AUTOThe flash is automatically activatedaccording to the recording condition.: AUTO/Red-eye reductionThe flash is automatically activatedaccording to the recording condition.It reduces the red-eye phenomenon (eyesof the subject appear red in the picture) bytriggering the flash before actuallyrecording the picture. After that, the flash isactivated for actual recording again.• The flash is activated twice. The firstflash is activated only for a preparationof actual recording. The subject shouldnot move until the second flash isfinished.• Use this when you take pictures ofpeople in low lighting conditions.: Forced ONThe flash is activated every time regardlessof the recording condition.• Use this when your subject is back-litor under fluorescent light.: Forced ON/Red-eye reduction• The flash setting is set to Forced ON/Red-eye reduction only when you setto [PARTY] in scene mode.
