Information Regarding ConvergenceIn the projection television, the image is formed byprojecting 3 different color images (red, green and blue)onto the projection screen. Convergence refers to thealignment of red, green and blue images on theprojection screen. When these images are properlyaligned (converged), you see a sharp and vibrant colorimage. Sometimes, the three images may requirealignment. This is due to the effect of earth's magnetic fieldon the projection tubes. Normally, adjustment is notnecessary after the initial alignment at the center of thescreen. It is possible to correct the color fringing on otherareas of the screen by using the buttons on the remotecontrol and by following the on-screen instructions in theset-up menu. Please converge the images before using thetelevision for the first time. The following diagram showsexamples of a misaligned image and a properly alignedimage. Please refer to pages 26 and 27 for detailedprocedure on how to adjust convergence.Miscenverged imageNotes:Properly aligned imageMake sure that the set is on for at least 20 minutesbefore adjusting convergence as described on pages 26and 27.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONImportant Information Regarding The Use OfVideo Games, Computers, Or Other FixedImage Displays.WARNING: The marking or retained image on thepicture tube resulting from viewing fixed image isnot an operating defect and as such is not coveredby Warranty. The projection television is designed to displayconstantly moving images on the screen. Continuousviewing of stationary images such as letterbox pictureson standard screen TVs (with top/bottom bars), non-expanded standard (4:3) pictures on wide screen TVs(with side bars shown on each side of an image), stockmarket report bars (ticker running at the bottom of thescreen), video game patterns, fixed scoreboards, bright station Iogos, on-line (lnternet) or repetitivecomputer style patterns should be limited. The extended use of fixed image program material cancause a permanent picture tube damage, shown as a"shadow image" viewable on normal programs. Thistype of irreversible picture tube deterioration can belimited by performing the following steps:Limit the display of fixed image program material tono more than 15% of total viewing time per week.Turn the power offwhen not in use.FCC INFORMATIONThis equipment has been tested and found to comply withthe limit for a Class B Digital Device in accordance with thespecifications in Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
