ENGLISH-41 Others40-E NGLISHCleaning and replacing the air filterIf the air filter becomes clogged with dust, the internal temperature of theprojector will rise, the TEMP indicator will flash and the projector power willturn off. The air filter should be cleaned every 100 hours of use,depending on the location where the projector is being used.Cleaning procedure# Turn off the MAIN POWERswitch and disconnect thepower cord plug from the walloutlet.Turn off the MAIN POWER switchaccording to the procedure givenin “Turning off the power” onpage 23 before disconnecting theplug from the wall outlet.$ Gently turn the projectorupside down.NOTE:B Place the projector on top of asoft cloth so that it will notbecome scratched.% Remove the air filter.Put your fingernails under the airfilter and pull the air filter out ofthe projector.& Clean the air filter.Use a vacuum cleaner to cleanoff any accumulated dust.NOTE:B Be careful not to let the air filterget sucked into the vacuumcleaner.' Install the air filter.NOTE:B Be sure to install the air filtercover before using the projector.If the projector is used without theair filter cover installed, dust andother foreign particles will bedrawn into the projector, andmalfunctions will result.B If the dust cannot be removed bycleaning, it is time to replace theair filter. Please consult yourdealer. Furthermore, if the lampunit is being replaced, replace theair filter at this time also.Air filterRemedyProblemIndicatordisplay Flashing (red)It is nearly time toreplace the lampunit.Illuminated (red)An abnormality has been detected in the lampcircuit.B Does “REPLACELAMP” appear onthe screen afterthe projector isturned on?B This occurs whenthe operation timefor the lamp unit isnearing 1800hours. (whenLAMP POWERhas been set to“HIGH”) Ask yourdealer or anAuthorisedService Centre toreplace the lampunit.PossiblecauseB The power mayhave been turnedon straight awayafter it was turnedoff.B Wait for a whileuntil the lamp unitcools down beforeturning the powerback on again.B There may be anabnormality in thelamp circuit.B Turn off the MAINPOWER switch byfollowing theprocedure givenon page 23, andthen contact anAuthorisedService Centre.LAMP indicatorNOTE:B Be sure to turn off the MAIN POWER switch by following the proceduregiven in “Turning off the power” on page 23 before carrying out any of theprocedures in the “Remedy” column.B If the main power turns off after the TEMP indicator starts flashing, itmeans that an abnormality has occurred.
