Therefore periodicreplacement of the lamp isnecessary.The intended lamp replacementinterval is 2 500 hours, but it ispossible that the lamp may need tobe replaced earlier due to variablessuch as a particular lamp’scharacteristics, usage conditionsand the installation environment.Early preparation for lampreplacement is encouraged.The lamp will automatically shut offafter approximately 10 minuteswhen 2 500 hours of use have beenreached because of a much greaterchance of it exploding after thistime.NOTE:B The projector is not suppliedwith a replacement lamp unit.Please ask your dealer fordetails. Lamp unit productno.: ET-LAP1CAUTION:B Do not use any lamp unit otherthan the one with the productnumber indicated above.NOTE:B While 2 500 hours is theintended replacement interval,it is not a period of timecovered by warranty.Cleaning and replacing the air filterIf the air filter becomes clogged with dust, the internal temperature of theprojector will rise, the TEMP indicator will illuminate and the projector’spower will turn off (the TEMP indicator will flash after the power is turned off).The air filter should be cleaned every 100 hours of use.% Replace the air filter, and theninstall the air filter cover.CleaningUse a vacuum cleaner to clean offany accumulated dust.Replacement procedure# Turn off the power anddisconnect the mains lead.Be sure to disconnect the mainslead by following the proceduregiven on page 28.$ Gently turn the projectorupside down, and then removethe air filter cover.NOTE:B If the dust cannot be cleanedby a vacuum cleaner, removethe air filter and soak it inwater, and then wash out thedust by hand. Be sure to installthe air filter after it has dried.B Do not use detergent whenwashing the air filter.B If the dust cannot be removedby cleaning, it is time toreplace the air filter. Pleaseconsult your dealer.Furthermore, if the lamp unit isbeing replaced, replace the airfilter at this time also.NOTE:B Be sure to install the air filterbefore using the projector.
