21Input OptionsCableIf you have cable television but no cable box, select your cable service provider. If your cable service is not listed onthe screen, send mail to Consumerproducts@Panasonic.com or call 1-888-843-9788.Cable boxIf you have a cable box connected to the Hard Disk Recorder, select your cable service provider. You will also needto connect and position the IR blaster that came with the Hard Disk Recorder. This is required so the Hard DiskRecorder can change the channels on your cable box. Once the IR blaster is positioned, you will need to enter theproper setup code for your cable box. See “Connecting and Setting Up the IR Blaster” on page 17.DIRECTVIf you are not using a serial connector, you will need to connect and position the IR blaster that came with the HardDisk Recorder. This is required so the Hard Disk Recorder can change the channels on your DIRECTV receiver. Oncethe IR Blaster is positioned, you will need to enter the proper setup code for your DIRECTV receiver. If you will be usingthe supplied IR blaster to control your receiver, see “Connecting and Setting Up the IR Blaster” on page 17.DISH Network™If you have a DISH Network receiver connected to the Hard Disk Recorder, you will need to connect and positionthe IR blaster that came with the Hard Disk Recorder. This is required so the Hard Disk Recorder can change thechannels on your DISH Network receiver. Once the IR blaster is positioned, you will need to enter the proper setupcode for your DISH Network receiver. See “Connecting and Setting Up the IR blaster” on page 17.Completing the IR Blaster SetupAfter you have connected the IR blaster, you need to provide the Hard DiskRecorder with the setup code for your cable box or satellite receiver. This isthe final step in ensuring the Hard Disk Recorder and your cable box orsatellite receiver work together.
