RecordingVarious recording functions73LSQT1025(SD)Use the built-in flash in order to record still pictures in dark places.¬ Rotate the mode dial to select .1 Press the MENU button, then select[ ADVANCED] > [ß FLASH] > desired itemand press the joystick.ß: Forced flashßA: Auto≥ When [ßA] is set, the ambient brightness is automatically detected, and only when the flash isjudged necessary will it flash.2 Press the PHOTO SHOT button.The flash is activated and the picture will be recorded.When the flash is not usedPress the MENU button, then select [ ADVANCED] > [ß FLASH] > [ ] and press thejoystick.: Forced offBuilt-in flash (VDR-D300 only)≥ Do not block the flash by hand or any other means.≥ The unit, even when its flash has been turned off,automatically determines if the flash is necessary bydetecting the ambient brightness. (If it determinesthat the flash is necessary, the [ ] indication lightsup in yellow.)≥ When the [ß] ([ßi]/[ßj]) indication or the [ßA]([ßAi]/[ßAj]) indication is displayed, the flash canbe lit. If the indication is flashing or not displayed,the flash cannot be lit.≥ The available range of the flash is approx. 1 m to2.5 m in dark places. Pictures will appear dark orreddish when they are recorded by using the flashat distances greater than 2.5 m.≥ When setting the flash to [ßA] and adjusting theshutter speed or iris/gain at the same time, theindication [ßA] etc. may disappear and the flashmay not flash.≥ Using the flash fixes the shutter speed of 1/750 orfaster to 1/500.≥ The picture may become out of focus in darkplaces.
