cleaning the brewing unitThe brewing unit must be cleaned regularly to avoid the build-up of cakedcoffee residues, which could cause the appliance to malfunction.1 Switch off the appliance but leave the plug in the wall socket. Waituntil the display goes out.2 Open the service door.3 Remove the drip tray and the waste bin and clean them.4 Press the two red release buttons on the brewing unit towards eachother and pull the brewing unit out of the appliance.Note:The brewing unit can only be removed if the appliance is switched off.Attempting to remove the brewing unit while the appliance is switched on maycause serious damage.5 Clean the brewing unit under a hot tap. Do not use any cleaningagents.Never clean the brewing unit in the dishwasher.6 Carefully clean the inside of the appliance.Scrape away coffee residues caked to parts inside the appliance with aplastic or wooden fork.
