Problem Possible cause SolutionI want to brewespresso fromground coffee, butno espresso comesout of the appliance.You have put too muchground coffee in the groundcoffee compartment.Switch off the appliance and remove thebrewing unit and thoroughly clean the insideof the appliance. Brew espresso from groundcoffee again, but do not put more than one levelspoonful of ground coffee in the ground coffeecompartmentYou have not selected theground coffee function.As a result, the appliancehas become blockedbecause it has tried to brewcoffee using both the pre-ground coffee and the coffeefrom its own grinder.Switch off the appliance and thoroughly cleanthe inside of the appliance. Brew espresso fromground coffee again, but make sure you select theground coffee function.You have put groundcoffee in the ground coffeecompartment while theappliance was switched off.Thoroughly clean the inside of the appliance.Brew espresso from ground coffee again, butswitch on the appliance before you put theground coffee in the ground coffee compartment.The coffee does notcome out of thecoffee spout butaround the edges ofthe service door.The spout holes are cloggedwith dried coffee residues.Scrape the dried coffee residues out of the spoutholes with a needle.The slide-out tray inside theservice door is blocked andcannot slide in and out ofthe service door.Thoroughly clean the slide-out tray, particularlynear the hinges to ensure that it slides smoothlyin and out of the service door.No milk comes outof the milk frothingspout.The milk intake tube is notinserted or not properlyinserted into the milk jug lid.Insert the milk intake tube in the rubber ring inthe milk jug lid.The milk is notproperly frothed.The milk jug lid is dirty. Clean the milk jug lid.Clean the nozzle for the milk jug.The milk jug is not placedcorrectly.Place the milk jug correctly into the appliance.The milk containsbubbles or squirtsout of the milkfrothing spout.The milk is not cold enoughor you have not usedskimmed or semi-skimmedmilk.Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk atrefrigerator temperature.
