Turn off system power, turn off the power supply, and thendisconnect the power cord from its source before removing the chassis cover. Turning offthe system power switch does not remove power to components. When Working Inside a ComputerBefore taking covers off a computer, perform the following steps:1. Turn off the computer and any peripherals.2. Disconnect the computer and peripherals from their power sources orsubsystems to prevent electric shock or system board damage. This does notapply when hot swapping parts.3. Follow the guidelines provided in “Preventing Electrostatic Discharge” on thefollowing page.4.
