Scalar i500 User’s Guide 33When you have completed the Setup Wizard, the Library Configuration report appears on the webclient. The Library Configuration report provides information on the library’s tape drives, partitions, I/Estations, storage slots, cleaning slots, and loaded media. See Viewing the Library Configuration onpage 91 for more information on the Library Configuration report.Details on using the Setup Wizard include:• The only time that you do not need to log in to the library is when the Setup Wizard appears on theoperator panel the first time the library is powered on.• After a timeout period of one hour, the Setup Wizard will close, and you will be logged out of thelibrary. Use the default administrative user account to log in on the operator panel.• If you time out of the Setup Wizard or do not complete all the Setup Wizard screens, the library willapply the default configuration settings plus whatever modifications (if any) you made.• You can only configure network settings on the operator panel, and you cannot log in to the libraryfrom the web client until you have configured network settings.• You can always return to the Setup Wizard whenever you are logged in to either the operator panelor the web client.• Any administrative users you create will also be able to use the Setup Wizard as well as Setup andOperations menu commands to reconfigure the library.• If necessary, you can cancel out of the Setup Wizard on the operator panel and begin using thelibrary locally with the default settings in place. If you accept the default network configurationsettings, you will not be able to access the library remotely from the web client. You can, however,return to the Setup Wizard on the operator panel at any time and modify network and other settings.The default configuration settings are as follows:• License keys: 36 slots, minimum. The total number depends on number of pre-activated slotspurchased.• Network settings: DHCP enabled• Import/export (I/E) station slots: 6• Cleaning cartridge slots: 0• Partitions: The default is one partition if your library contains only SCSI, FC, or SAS tape drives.If your library contains two tape drive types, the default is two partitions; if it contains three tapedrive types, the default is three partitions. The library automatically groups tape drive byinterface type into separate partition. To mix tape drive types within a partition, create partitionsmanually. This chapter includesdetailed descriptions of the configuration tasks, including how and when to access them through the Setupand Operations menus.• Welcome (operator panel) — Welcomes you to the Setup Wizard.Note Depending on the size of the library, there may be a slight delay after you applythe settings in the Setup Wizard while the Library Configuration report pageloads.
