10416.1 - Check waterpressure16.1.1 - Check waterpressure on IB boilerIf the pressure inside the water circuitfalls below the minimum pressure forthe system, the appliance switchesoff and the display “N” as per Figure16-1, shows Err 59 to indicate thatit is necessary to restore the correctpressure. Open the filling valve andcheck the pressure on the pressuregauge “M” of Figure 16-1, the wordErr 59 will disappear when thepressure back at the right value. To prevent accidental relief valveopenings, fill the circuit slowly.CAUTION!!! During normaloperations, the filling valvemust always remain in theclosed position. If, with time, the pressure drops, restore the correct value. Thisoperation may have to be repeatedseveral times during the first month ofoperations to remove any air bubblespresent. If after one month the pressurecontinue to decrease, call a qualifiedservice technician.CAUTION!!! Continual freshmake-up water will reduce boilerlife. Mineral buildup in the heatexchanger reduces heat transfer, overheats the stainless steel heatexchanger, and causes failure.Addition of oxygen carried in bymakeup water can cause internalcorrosion in system components.Leaks in boiler or piping mustbe repaired at once to preventmakeup water entering the boiler.16.1.2 - Check waterpressure on IW waterheaterIf the pressure inside the water circuitfalls below the minimum pressure forthe system, the appliance switchesoff and the display “N” as per Figure16-1, shows Err 59 to indicate thatit is necessary to restore the correctpressure. Because water heater isinstalled in an open loop system, you have to check for the net waterpressure or for any pressure reducerupstream of the water supply circuit. When the pressure is restored the Err59 will disappear.16.2 - OverviewThe heater is pre-set with standardparameters. However, it is possibleto make a number of changes orconsult the parameters by means ofusing the “Users’ Menu” (see Section16.13) and the “Installers’ Menu” (seeSection 16.14).During functioning display “N” ofFigure 16-1, displays the supplytemperature, and display “M” (seeFigure 16-1) shows the pressureof the water. The various operatingstatuses are shown with other iconsas per Figure 16-1.16.3 - DisplaysDuring normal operations, the displaywill remain permanently off, exceptwhen the appliance goes into Lockout,or in Blocking error. In any case, pressing any key, displaywill light on and will stay light on for 5minutes from the last pressing key.16.4 - Start-upprocedure1. Open the manual gas shutoff valve;2. switch on electric power to theheater;3. If the display shows code Err 65,it means that the polarity hasnot been observed (Call servicedepartment to restore the situation,do not attempt to repair it);4. press key or tosetup the supply temperaturedesired, then press RESET key tosave the change.5. press key andto setup the indirect water heaterdesired temperature, then pressRESET key to save the change. The flame control appliance will start-up the burner. If the burner fails to ignite within 60seconds, the heater will automaticallyattempt ignition another four times, after which if it fails to start-up, it willshut down and the display will showLoc 1 together icon .When multi-burner unit models 399 -1000 go into any Lockout or Blockingerror the display will show the iconand the corresponding burner icon infail ( or ) that blink.Press the RESET key in order to re-set normal operating conditions. On units model 399 up to 1000,to restore the normal operatingcondition, press RESET key one time, diplay will show the type of lockout, than press RESET key again (to backin normal display mode, press andhold for at least 5 seconds RESETkey). The heater will automatically attemptanother start-up.CAUTION!!! If the appliancefrequently shuts down, contacta qualified technician to restorenormal running conditions. Donot attempt to repair it.16.5 - IW supplywater temperatureadjustmentThe water heater provides hot water atthe temperature set by adjusting keysor as shown in Figure16-1.When the keys are pressed, the display, item “N” in Figure 16-1, shows thesupply water setpoint being selected. The range within which the water canbe set is 68°F (20°C) to 176°F (80°C).WARNING!!!WARNING!!! Watertemperature over 125°F (51°C)can cause severe burns instantlyor death from scalds. Children, disabled and elderly are athighest risk of being scalded.Feel water before bathing orshowering.16 - USE
