• Each Title on a DVD can be divided into chapters(similar to tracks on an audio CD).• A DVD may contain several different titles. Forexample, if a disc contains four different movies, eachmight be considered a title.CHAPTER THREE : DVD OPERATION 35D V D O P E R AT I O NUsing the Search and Skip FunctionsSearching through a Chapter or TrackPress the FWD( ) orREW( ) SEARCH but-ton on the remote controlduring playback.• Press the FWD( ) or REW( ) SEARCH button on the remote control and press again tosearch at a faster speed (2X/4X/8X/16X/32X/128X) on a DVD, (4X/8X) on a VCD and (2X/4X/8X)on a CD.• To return to normal speed playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE( ) button.Skipping TracksDuring playback, pressthe NEXT SKIP( ) orBACK SKIP( ) button.• When playing a DVD, if you press the NEXT SKIP ( ) button, it moves to next chapter. If youpress the BACK SKIP ( ) button, it moves to the beginning of the chapter. One more pressmakes it move to the beginning of the previous chapter.• When playing a VCD 2.0 in MENU OFF mode, a VCD1.1 or a CD, if you press the NEXT SKIP( )button, it moves to next track. If you press the BACK SKIP( ) button, it moves to the thebeginning of the track. One more press makes it move to the beginning of the previous track.• If a track exceeds 15 minutes when playing a VCD and you press the NEXT SKIP( ) button, itmoves forward 5 minutes. If you press the BACK SKIP( ) button, it moves backward 5minutes.• When playing a VCD 2.0 in the MENU MODE or Track View function, if you press the NEXTSKIP( ) button, it moves to the next MENU or the next Track View display. If you press theBACK SKIP( )button, it moves to the previous MENU or the previous Track View display. When in search mode (2X/4X/8X/16X/32X/128X) on aDVD or high-speed playback on a VCD, no sound will beheard.Slow Motion Playback (Except CD)Press the FWD( )SEARCH button on theremote control during PAUSEor STEP mode.• By pressing the FWD SEARCH button, you can select slow motion playback for 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2 ofnormal speed.• No sound is heard during slow mode.• Press the PLAY/PAUSE( ) button to resume normal playback.• When playing a VCD, the reverse slow motion play will not work.16061510-CHAPTER 3 12/13/02 11:46 AM Page 35
